About: Art Burton: Art has been involved with WNLL going on his 8th year as a board member and this will be his  4th year as League President.  He has coached several teams from from AA up to Juniors including All Stars and Fall Ball. Art also started our Leagues first Challenger Division. He  has held various positions on the board. Art is dedicated to preserving the history and integrity of WNLL and WALL. He is excited about the future state of the program and wants to push Westerly National Little League to newer heights. He views the league as one Big family both past and present players, coaches, and family members. His new position as president will require him to presides at league meetings, and assumes full responsibility for the operation of the local league. He receives all mail, supplies, and other communications from the Little League International. As president he must see to it that league personnel is properly briefed on all phases of rules, regulations, and policies of Little League. Lastly he is the contact between the local organization and Little League International.

About Jared: Jared has been involved with WNLL going on his 6 year. He has coached various teams from AAA, Majors, Juniors and All Stars. Jared is very dedicated to the league and is always willing to step up and help out whenever needed. Jared new role with the board as Vice President Presides in the absence of the president; works with other officers and committee members; is ex-official member of all committees and carries out such duties and assignments as may be delegated by the President.

About About Jen she has been involved with Westerly National Little League for over 8 Years. Jen has always volunteer to help when ever needed or asked.  She is a very detailed oriented person and takes her newly elected position sincerely. We as a league are lucky to have such a person in the role of Treasure.  Jen will be responsible for the financial condition of the local league and providing monthly or periodic updates to fellow board members. She will prepare financial statements and budgets, including the annual financial report to the submitted to the league’s membership. Jen will also handle income and expenses of the league and properly tracks and records them. Heather wants to promote transparency and openness with our leagues finances.

 About Ronnie: grew up in Westerly and played Little League for Westerly National.  He has held and shared some of his fondest memories of playing for Little League on Watch Hill Garage. Today Ronnie has been a current board member of WNLL for over the past 9 years. He has held various positions with the board. Outside of Little League Ronnie has over 16 Years coaching experience 6 years and still counting as Head Coach of the Westerly High School Baseball Team and 9 years with the Middle School Team. Ronnie bring's a wealth of knowledge and experience to our league. Ronnie's current duties as Player Agent Conduct annual tryouts, and is in charge of player selection assist president in checking with birth records and eligibility of players. She supervises and coordinates the transfer of players to or from the Minors League's according to the provisions under the regulations of Little League.

Jays duties as Safety Officer include Coordinates all safety activities; ensures safety in player training; ensures safe playing conditions; coordinates reporting and prevention of injuries; solicits suggestions for making conditions safer; reports suggestions to Little League International through the league president and prepares the ASAP plan for submission to Little League International.

About Antonette: Antonette Terenzio is the owner of Terenzio Tile and Marble Masonry.  Antonette also is    contractor for IT Projects.  Before moving to RI in 2017, she previously worked as Vice President of Business Continuity for the Royal Bank of Scotland in Stamford.
She also is  a substitute teacher with the Westerly Public Schools and has 15 years of real estate experience. Antonette has four children that all played WNLL last year. Antonette also was recently awarded one of 10 Parental Involvement Recognition awards for 2019 by the Connecticut State Education Resource Center for her generous contributions and volunteer service to her community. She is also a Senior Member for the Civil Air Patrol. She earned a master's degree in finance  and a bachelor's in business administration and marketing at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn., 

This new position as information / communications officer will set up and manages league’s official website; set up online registration and ensures the league rosters are uploaded to Little League; assigns online administrative rights to other local volunteers; encourages creation of team web sites to managers, coaches, and parents; ensures that league news and scores are updated online on a regular basis; collects, posts, and distributes important information on league activities including direct dissemination of fundraising and sponsor activities to Little League, the district, the public, league members, and the media; serves as primary contact person for Little League and Dick’s Team Sports HQ regarding optimizing use of the Internet for league administration and for distributing information to league members and to Little League International. Provides player, coach, and manager records to Little League International in electronic format.

About Drew Bishop: Drew has been with our league going on his 6th year.  He has been an active member on our board now for over 2 years. Drew has a strong work ethic and commitment to the leagues overall success.  His new duty as coaching coordinator will require him to represent coaches/managers in league; presents a coach/ manager training budget to the board; gains the support and funds necessary to implement a league-wide training program; orders and distributes training materials to players, coaches and managers; coordinates mini-clinics as necessary; serves as the contact person for Little League and its manager-coach education. Receives and distributes coaching information from Little League International and distributes to all coaches and managers.                         
 


 
 


 

Umpire in Chief

Kevin Messier new role with the board as Umpire in Chief requires him to serves as coordinator of and advises the league President on the league umpire program; responsible for recommending umpires to the league President for appointment to the league umpire roster; recruiting and retaining volunteer umpires; establishing a league umpire training program consistent with Little League® guidelines; coordinating and assisting with conducting umpire clinics at league and district level; communicating rule changes to league umpires; scheduling league umpires for regular-season games; evaluating league umpires using established guidelines to maintain program integrity; further continual improvement, and prepare league umpires for advancement to tournament levels; communicating with and providing updates to the District Umpire Consultant on the league umpire program, and attending Umpire Training programs at the District, State, Region, and/or Headquarters level.

 Josh Beland is the Director of our Challenger League Program. He is a caring and compassionate person who enjoys helping others. Nate truly believes that all children should have the opportunity to participate regardless of abilities and limitations. He is eager and motivated to take the responsibility as director and work collaboratively with WNLL to provide a valuable experience for our players, and the families.
 We are truly blessed as a community and as a League to have Nate running our Challenger program.
